About Dermal Fillers:

Dermal fillers help to restore facial balance and restore fullness in the face that has been lost to aging. They can also help hide fine lines and deeper wrinkles that are not responsive to Botox®. Common areas treated are the lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and deep wrinkles of the forehead. Deep scars can also be well treated with dermal fillers. New techniques have also been developed to allow for use in the hands (Radiesse) to correct age related volume loss.

The majority of currently used dermal fillers are a form of hyaluronic acid. It potently binds to water and provides fullness to the areas treated. At COA, we use the entire product line of Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse. At the consultation we will determine your treatment goals and tailor the treatment for the best results.

The chosen dermal filler is injected into the area where correction is desired.  Some patients will do fine without numbing medicine, while others will require topical or regional anesthesia to the area.  Many of the dermal fillers also contain lidocaine, which reduces discomfort.

Number of treatments:

All fillers are temporary treatments and will require repeat injections to maintain your desired look. The exact time between treatments varies on the filler used, the desired look, and amount used.

Appointment Time (may vary):

15-30 minutes per region treated.

Downtime:

None. You will notice redness at the site of injection after the procedure. If a nerve block is required for the procedure, you will notice numbness in the treated area for 1-2 hours after.

Ideal Candidate:
